So recently, I watched the movie Kingdom of Heaven (starred by Orlando Bloom) and I was admittedly disappointed with myself for not having seen it earlier. The movie was released back in 2005 and I’ve only seen it 11 years after lol! Anyway, I just want to share some of the lines in the film that I find very good to take as a principle in life:
“What man is a man that does not make the world a better place?” – Balian (played by Orlando Bloom)
“Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Be brave and upright that God may love thee.
Speak the truth always even if it leads to your death.
Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
That is your oath. *slaps Balian*
And that is so you remember it.” – Godfrey (played by Liam Neeson)
We may not be knights or crusaders or what not, but we can only choose to either live honorably or be on the wrong side of the fence. We can choose to be fighting for a righteous cause or be the cause of agony and pain of others. We only have one life to live so we ought to live it as best as we could. To not only look out for ourselves, but also for others. 🙂
